What is your daily spiritual practice?

September 26, 2022 by Carolyn Leave a Comment

What is your daily spiritual practice? Part of mine is picking an oracle card and journaling the message for me.

This Sunday, 2 more jumped out to join the fun.

Faith was the first, Leader jumped in front and Blessings rounded out the message.

Hmmm sounds fabulous. Then I needed to look (as always) at how I might be blocking these energies.

Faith – is easy for me – I absolutely and always believe that God has my back and that life is happening for me vs. against me. Easy one.

Leader – yikes, am I showing up as a leader? I want to and intend to. I am being vulnerable here and asking “Do you see me as a leader? If so, how? If not, how can I show up differently to support you better?” Dang, that was hard to write.

Blessings – I feel we are all connected and the more we share energy, thoughts and intentions, the more the universe showers us all with abundance and blessings.

I am blessed to be a clear channel for divine guidance. If you are looking for direction on your life’s path or next right step, I can help you.

Find a time to chat with me and my guides.

Courage of a Coffee & Tea Set

May 6, 2020 by Carolyn Leave a Comment

Parents Coffee Tea SetCourage can be defined in many ways. It is standing for what we know is right even when we are afraid. It can be walking away from an unhealthy situation. It can be advocating for someone else. It may be speaking an uncomfortable truth. At the root of courage is heart centered action.

For me, it is always easiest to take heart centered action from a grounded and centered energy. As I meditated on writing this blog about courage my awareness focused on this coffee and tea set in my living room. I realized I also unconsciously find a focal point to help me direct my energy.

The set had a place of honor on top of the buffet in my parent’s dining area for as long as I can remember. My parents brought it back from Europe where they lived before I was born. It’s been a focal point and energy anchor intuitively for me forever.

As a small child I remember walking through the dining area thinking how pretty that set looked but knowing that touching it would get me in trouble. I would gravitate towards it when life around me got crazy. It was pretty and solid. It helped me feel brave and safe.

It made me happy to see the shiny pieces that looked like a happy family. They all were on a solid foundation together and stayed together no matter what. I gained courage and peace whenever I looked at it.

As a teenager I remember it being there through all the angst of growing up. Again, the set stayed together and shiny. It was my calm in the middle of many storms. I didn’t understand meditation yet but often found myself staring at the set when I needed to make a decision or have a tough conversation.  It allowed me to find the courage in myself to speak and do things that I found scary.

Once I moved out and started my journey on my own the set became a subconscious centering point whenever I returned to my parents’ home. We would gather around the dining table and I always wanted to be facing the set. I would take a breath and look at the set before responding to a difficult question or comment.

As I expanded more into my true self in my life‘s journey there was always something grounding to me about that set sitting on top of the buffet in my parents dining room. When I started my own family and returned to my parents’ home to visit it always brought a smile to my face. The consistency of the set and the never changing location on the buffet gave me comfort, clarity, and direction.

My Tea SetI re-created this set by finding little teapot sets and purchasing them on my own. At some level I knew I was trying to fill a void in my life by bringing these sets into my home, but I didn’t quite understand what it was. I knew that having the sets centered me and helped me move through many challenges along the way. I would stare at them as I found courage to make difficult choices or take new risks.

When we sold my childhood home my sister and I were dividing up belongings between my mom, her, and me. I teared up when I asked for the set. My sister hesitated for a moment, saw my genuine need, and agreed that it was mine. I still didn’t know why I need it and the full power of that set. I just knew that I needed to have the courage to ask for it.

When I brought it to my home and gave it a place of honor in my living room, I realized that my courage and faith had come full circle. I had centered my focus on who I was and my value. The shiny set reflected back a strong woman who confidently connected into divine guidance, trusted it, made choices and took action. I didn’t need the set to see or center my energy or to have courage. I now could value the set for its beauty and memories.

The set still has a place of honor and I often pause near it to enjoy its bright beauty. What I see reflecting back is the value and courage that I put out daily. I show up authentically for me, my children, and my clients.

I have the courage to tap into my own energy to make centered choices and take the right next step. I also know that there is power in staring at a centering point to ground myself and connect even deeper to inner wisdom.

Those five beautiful pieces of shining metal provide confidence, clarity, comfort, courage, and the baseline connection that supports them all.

Tip of the Week: 03-22-20

March 24, 2020 by Carolyn Leave a Comment

Hello everyone. Carolyn McGee, Intuitive Healer, Coach, Channel and Guide here for your Tip of the Week Video. It is the week of a March 22nd, 2020 and I was guided to use the Archangel Michael cards by Doreen Virtue.

Inner GuidanceAnd the card that is stepping forward is Your Inner Guidance is Real and Trustworthy. Really look at the image of this card, how protected the woman is, and that she is holding a book in her hands. And that’s truly what it is. That knowledge, the information that we need to live our lives authentically, powerfully, and clearly is literally in our hands.

And of course, our hands are an extension of our body. So we are being invited to tap into our own intuition and allow in that information that is in your hands. Ask your angels and guides to write down the information and to help you write it down.

Anybody who’s followed me for a while knows that I am a big advocate of journaling. It’s very powerful. Just take the time to write down your thoughts, get a piece of paper and just freehand. Do automatic writing or something that’s going to allow that energy to flow through you and become part of your own consciousness and your own awareness.

And why is this important? Especially now with this pandemic that we’ve got worldwide, especially here in the United States, it’s really important to learn how to trust our intuition, to trust that divine guidance that’s right in your hands and not fall into fear.

I’m not suggesting that we do risky behavior. I am not suggesting that we don’t wash our hands, that we don’t take all of those precautions, practice that six feet of of physical distancing. I’m not a fan of the social distancing the terminology because I would never suggest that we stop communicating with people.

There’s such beautiful ways to communicate that we don’t need to be face to face, although I do prefer it. One of the things that we can do in this time is learn to trust ourselves so that we can differentiate when is it fear, when is it in intuition? There’s a big difference in between the two.

We each have voices that are aspects of ourselves, voice of intuition and the voices of our angels. Those are higher level voices that work through us to help guide us on our life’s path, to help us make empowered decisions and to stop second guessing ourselves.

Now the voices like fear, resistance, sabotage, the inner critic (I call the inner critic my mean girl). Those voices are there to keep us safe in the only way they know how to, oftentimes they came on when we were young children of because of a trauma or because of something that we couldn’t understand.

They came on to try to keep us safe, to keep us small, to keep us from doing things that could recreate that trauma, whatever it was. And remember, when these voices come online, we’re young children. We don’t have the intuitive or the logical skills to understand why something might’ve happened, it is just our systems are overwhelmed. Something outside of our control has happened that has shut us down and made us afraid to repeat the same mistake or be in a similar situation.

So, to keep us safe, that voice is going to get really tricky. That voice is going to become even more and more subtle. As you catch on to something that it’s doing, it will bury itself even deeper. So how can you tell the difference? One of the ways is to feel energy in your body. You know, if you put your hands on your lower belly area, the first, second chakra area and if you breathe deeply down into that area you will feel it.

Feel the energy settle. And as it settles, ask what energy is in there. Is it fear? Is the fear appropriate for the current situation or is it anticipation, anticipation of something good to come? Because fear and anticipation, the energy that rising, that bubbling sensation, that often happens in our second and third chakras, the feeling in our physical body is very similar. So as we take the time to ask our bodies and to take those breaths and to wait to hear or feel the results, then it becomes clearer, which it is and if the fear is legitimate.

We are experiencing a lot of fear right now, but what we don’t want to do is get into the energy of being paralyzed. We don’t want to step into that fight, flight and freeze energy that we can fall into.

Just like a rabbit that’s sitting there and sees a predator and stops and freezes. We can do that to ourselves too, where we get paralyzed and we can’t make a decision. We can’t feel the body signals our own intuition. We can’t hear those divine downloads because we are in such shock.  That is really what it is when we’re in that freeze energy.

If you go back to the caveman times, the way we were designed was to freeze when we had to and then completely come out of it and move on when it was safe or we would run away and our hearts would be pounding. But once we got away from the danger, all of that cortisol would settle out of our bodies and we would continue on with our lives.

Now with all of these artificial stressors, and again, I am not minimizing what’s going on in the world right now, but our bodies are conditioned to go into that deep fear, in many cases, much bigger than what the reality is.

What I am inviting you to do is to take those breaths. I always loved three. That’s a powerful, magical number. Take those three breaths, put your hand on wherever that fear is. Most times it’s in the lower Chakras.  Sometimes it might show up in your throat, but just put your hand there and ask it if it’s real and ask it if it’s real for right now or if it is a reaction to something being perceived as similar to a past event.

And if you have any questions, please reach out to me. I am going to be doing Facebook live in my group all week long. So I joined me. I am going to be doing a pick a card on Monday and Facebook lives the rest of the week. So join the group. It’s Enhance Your Intuition on Facebook. Would love to see you there and connect deeper. Bye. Bye for now.

Tip of the Week: 03-15-20

March 16, 2020 by Carolyn Leave a Comment

Hello everyone. Carolyn McGee, Intuitive Coach and Teacher here for your Tip of the Week Video. It is the week of March 15th, 2020 and there is a lot going on this week.  I want to talk to you about being centered and focusing on what you can control.

So first of all, like always, I like to pull a card. We are using the Dragon Oracle cards and the card that came out for us is the Earth Dragon. Now I know that the card is reversed from the way that I can see it, but this dragon is looking back, looking into the past. So the invitation for all of us is to let go of the past, to let go of what we think we know, to focus on being present. You know, this quarantine that we’re in, this social distancing with the coronavirus is giving us an opportunity to, in some ways, yes, step back into an older way of being.

You know, we are very fortunate as a society where we have the ability to do things like video conferencing, to do FaceTime, Skype, just pick up the phone and have a conversation. We have TV, we’ve got Twitter. There’s all of these different ways for us to connect. It’s very different than it was back in 1918 when we had the Spanish flu pandemic.

So what can we learn about that? One of the things that they learned during that time period was the criticality of being outside in nature. There’s been information on Facebook recently showing that the people who healed quicker were the ones who they put outside. I’ve even seen pictures of rows and rows of tents of with patients on stretchers that are outside in the sun.

They’re absorbing the light. So one of the ways to build your immunity and help you recover faster or help your immunity build up so you’re not affected by all of this is just continue to get outside. If you have somebody in your household that that you want to take a walk with, take a walk. Otherwise just get outside yourself, maintain that suggested six feet of space and take a walk. Take your dog for a walk. Go to the dog park, but just don’t engage at a close proximity, but still get yourself outside. Take yourself for a drive. Get in your car and go outside. Put the windows down, if it makes sense, and just get yourself out of the space that you’re in because it can get a little bit claustrophobic.

If it’s safe for you to continue to work, that’s great. If you’re working from home, try to keep your same routine. You get up, get yourself dressed, you get your coffee. If that’s, if that’s your thing, it certainly is mine. And go to work. If you are getting paid, keep the same support systems that you have. If you’ve got a dog walker, have them come to walk the dog as long as everybody’s healthy. If you have somebody who comes to mow the grass or clean your house or does other support for you continue to do that as long as you can. It’s keeping the economy going. It’s supporting others. It’s that sense of community which is extremely important. And one of the things that I have been noticing and that my angels keep whispering in my ear about is we have lost that tribal sense of community.

If you think about just even a couple hundred years ago, if we were isolated from the tribe, the way they punished people is that they would excommunicate them, excommunicate them from the church, they would put them outside the stockade fence. They would just socially ostracize people if they didn’t follow the rules.

And we’re taking a step back into the sensation of that, even though it’s not real.  It’s not real, but the energy of it, the way our root chakra, our safety center feels.  We are going to react to that old paradigm of it’s not safe. It’s not safe to be alone. And that’s going to amplify the fear. That’s part of what’s running the energy with the cleaning out the stores, there’s this pervasive feeling of it’s not safe.

It’s not safe to be me. It’s not safe in my home. It’s not safe in general. So taking a deep breath and realizing that you are safe.  Yes, we all have to take precautions. We need to be aware. We need to wash our hands thoroughly. If we don’t feel well, we do need to stay home and not muscle through it. We’ve been taught in the past that if is just a little cold it’s okay to go to work. That’s that old energy. This is the energy of taking care of ourselves and taking of others in our community because we are not alone. We are not isolated.

We are all in this together. It’s a worldwide situation and we each have a responsibility and the power to make a difference. So for this week, my invitation to you is reach out and see if you can support somebody. Earlier in my town there was an elderly woman who posted on Facebook that that she was out of milk and asked if somebody could help her. There was at least 20 people that said, what kind of milk do you want? Do you have any restrictions? And I’ll get you one and I’ll drop it off on your doorstep. That’s community. Another thing that happened is that the town has an emergency food fund. And in order to help support the restaurants in town, they’re using those funds, buying food, and then they’re going to have it available for individuals to schedule a time because they’re trying to be very aware of not having a crowd schedule a time to come and pick up a meal.

So again, it’s a community. It’s reaching out, it’s being of service. And that’s the way we support each other. That’s the way we support ourselves. It’s so important to get into that energy of supporting others. So my invitation to you is how can you support somebody else and what can you do to be kinder to yourself to make things a little bit more fun for yourself while you are taking care of yourself while you are pulling back and not engaging as much with the outside world.

Do you have a book that you’ve been putting off reading? Can you schedule yourself some time, do your work from home or whatever you have to do, and then give yourself the pleasure of reading that book? Are you writing a book and you’ve been procrastinating it?  I fall into that category.  Schedule time, work on it.

If you love to draw, get a coloring book and give yourself that joy. There are all kinds of online programs to keep engaged. I’m seeing some beautiful things where people are waiving programs fees so that you can do it at home. All kinds of subscriptions. They’re really encouraging people to do self care. And that’s something you can do at home. That’s something you can do with your family. Do a yoga class in your living room. Turn on some crazy music and dance. Have fun. Bring a little joy into your life.

And because I like to be of service what my commitment to everyone is that I’m going to do a Facebook Live every day for an undetermined of time. We’re going to play this all just by ear, just like everything else in the beginning.

It will be a different time each day. On Monday it’s going to be a five o’clock in my Facebook group. The Facebook group is called Enhance Your Intuition. You have to answer a few questions in order to join, but they’re all real easy questions and I would love to see you there. I will be there giving tips, holding space. We can all have a virtual tea. I’ll pull cards, I’ll answer questions, whatever I can do to help keep the community vibe alive. I hope to see you there and have a fabulous week. Bye bye for now.

Validation through others blocks Intuition

February 26, 2020 by Carolyn Leave a Comment

Confusion

There are 5 things you must stop doing to strengthen your intuitive muscles and connect deeper to your guidance.  We talked about Forgetting to Breathe and How focusing on what didn’t work blocks Intuition earlier.

Another big one is when we look outside of our self for validation.

Many of us were trained out of trusting our intuition.  We were taught to follow the rules of society and religion.  Or we were rewarded and acknowledged for following the family patterns.

When we questioned something because it didn’t feel right, we were ridiculed or even hurt.

We became conditioned to not trust our own advice.   We are great at giving it for others but don’t trust ourselves to take our own.

Do you have someone who you always call for advice?   When you have a big decision to make do you want to talk it over with someone because you don’t trust your own decisions?  This is bigger than looking for a sounding board – this is wanting someone else to influence your choices because you fear making the wrong choice.

In the past, if there was a difference between what someone else thought I should do and what I felt I should do, I often ignored myself and took others advice.  I realized that I wasn’t in touch with what my soul wanted for me.

I can clearly remember many crossroads along the way where I deeply felt that I should do something, but my friends or family said to do something else.  I didn’t have the confidence or trust in my own wisdom to follow my guidance.

When I started my business I had brilliant ideas that didn’t fit traditional wisdom and by not following them it was harder to grow my business.

This lack of trust showed up as missed opportunities, procrastination, and unhappiness with my life.

I noticed the pattern of when I felt satisfied with my life was when I trusted and acted on my own feelings and intuition.  As I started to do this more, I saw and felt the difference in my energy and happiness.  Life flowed easier.

Opportunities appeared that I couldn’t see before. My business grew as I became more authentic and followed my energy and guidance.

Can you think of a time that you didn’t follow your intuition and regretted it?

If you want support around clearing the blocks to trusting your guidance to act then sign up for an Empowered Living session today!

How focusing on what didn’t work blocks Intuition

January 29, 2020 by Carolyn Leave a Comment

Balance is keyThere are 5 things you must stop doing to strengthen your intuitive muscles and connect deeper to your guidance.  We talked about Forgetting to Breathe earlier.

The second way is to focus on what didn’t work.

Many people spend a lot of time talking about something that went wrong. They repeat the story of how somebody did something to them.  How they got caught in traffic and then retell the details three hours later.  They are still angry and can’t let go.

What we focus on persists.  We are amplifying that energy and we are going to continue to draw in that energy. How many times have you heard somebody say, “I’m having a bad day.” and then they tell everything that’s going on with their bad day.  And guess what happens? Throughout the day, more stuff happens. Your brain wants to prove you right, it really works hard to prove you right. So what you are focusing on is what it gives you more of.

What if you imagine your life is like a Seesaw?  If you put positive thoughts on one side and negative thoughts are on the other side, are you balanced? Are you more positive, even 51%, or do you spend the majority of your energy in negativity?

It’s a choice that we have in every single moment. We can reset the energy we live in. It’s just bringing your energy into awareness. What are you thinking about? Being aware of our reaction and thoughts if something goes wrong.  Do you immediately say, what did I do wrong? How can I fix this or is it I’ll do better next time? Can you feel the energy difference around this?

Do you feel that day to day that you’re more positive than negative? Or do you think you still have a little bit of room for improvement? When we are in that energy of what went wrong, we’re not manifesting our desires.  We are processing from our logic instead our body and can’t feel our intuition in our body.

Our body is the way we process that divine information, our bodies are the way we can figure out what steps to take. If you’re not present, you’re not able to process the information, feel the energy, and then you almost become paralyzed. You can’t decide. We all know someone who had a brilliant idea and did not take action on it because you couldn’t decide if it was right.  Then we see someone else brings our idea forth.

When you are in that negative state, you can’t make a good decision. There is a reason that that statement “fake it until you make it” is out there. Sometimes you just must decide that things are going to be okay. You have to change the energy in your wording and life. Ask what can I change to make this day better?

Try doing something nice for someone else. Meditate, go for a walk, do anything to shift the vibration you are currently in. Because when you’re focusing on the positive, the good, it shifts your energy so that you’re moving from that state where you can’t feel your emotions and are closed down and stepping into possibility.

Start to use grounded affirmations. You can write out all the affirmations that you want, but if you don’t feel them in your body, if your body doesn’t think that it’s possible, it’s really hard to manifest.   Try shifting your energy five degrees. Look at things from a slight shift in perspective.  And then everyday time try and stretch yourself into what you want instead of what you don’t want.

One way we block our Intuition

December 5, 2019 by Carolyn 1 Comment

There are many ways we block our connection to our divine messages and intuition.  We cannot feel the energy in our body to integrate the wisdom if we are not grounded and present.

Forgetting to breathe deeply is one way we can block connection.  When we are stressed, we can hold our breath, or our breath can become shallow.   We slip into fight, flight or freeze mode. When we forget to breathe, we are in the freeze part of the stress response.  Our bodies are trying to become invisible to threats.

From this energy we are hyper aware of the perceived threat.  When we don’t breathe or breathe deeply our organs think we are dying.  Our body rushes the oxygen to our hearts to keep us alive.   This affects all of our organs.  Our body’s awareness focuses to staying alive.

We lose our ability to think and to feel energy on our skin so we cannot sense information.   We forget how to interact with the world.

Our other senses are reduced, and we cannot feel intuitive energy.

Just like a rabbit we are frozen and stuck.  A rabbit will start to make small movements and shift to test if it is safe.  Once the threat is understood, it will either continue to eat or move away.  If we don’t breathe, we can stay stuck and it becomes a pattern of not taking action.

To help open your energy to feel intuition easier, take 3 deep breathes in through your nose feeling the breath expand to your hips.  Hold this breath for a count of 3 and then release it out your mouth to open energy and greater awareness.

Soul’s Guidance vs Logic

February 27, 2019 by Carolyn Leave a Comment

Have you ever had a strong impulse to do something that logically just doesn’t make sense?

I was driving home from having dinner with a friend the other night when I felt the need to stop at this store along my way. It’s not a place that I typically go and it is probably been at least 10 years since I actually stopped there. It was getting a little late and my logic was saying “Do you need to stop now?  There’s nothing that you really need.”

I have learned to trust my intuition and my Soul‘s guidance so I stopped. As I parked my car, I remembered a man that I felt a connection to the last time I was there and wondered if he still owned the business. I saw him immediately when I walked in the store. As crazy as it sounds, he recognized me too.

I picked up something and went to pay. It turns out that he had sold the store and then recently purchased it back, but he is very rarely there as he owns another store in the town that I recently moved to. That was interesting and I wondered why I really needed to connect with him again.

As I was getting ready to pull back out onto the highway, he came running out of the store to say that he needed to talk to me. He asked me if I knew what soul connections were. I was almost speechless as I did not expect that.

He handed me his card and say that it is nice to see you, that he recognized me and wanted me to know that I’m important. The value of me being seen by someone who I had not encountered in over 10 years and honored for the energetic connection was amazing! As open as I am too soul family support, the impact of meeting this man again and having him have the courage to state the truth opened me up to a whole new level of connection.

It also made me curious if there were places where I may not be fully following my intuitive guidance. I journaled on being in gratitude for the experience and anchoring in this new way of seeing opportunities and having the courage to follow through on them.

Are you aware of any times that you have a missed an opportunity because you didn’t follow your intuition?

Let me know your stories.
