Honoring your inner child as the hero of your soul

June 28, 2021 by Carolyn Leave a Comment

Your inner child is the hero of your soulOne of the modalities for healing past trauma or finding your connection to your divine guidance is inner child work.

This type of work entails connecting to your inner child at various ages and listening to the needs, wants, and emotions of your younger self. It can be very useful in uncovering needs long kept hidden.

It can also provide unique guidance into understanding areas where we need to focus, heal, and/or provide extra attention. We can discover our unique gifts, our reasons for our soulful existence, and reasons why we might not be allowing them to fully shine through today.

Oftentimes, clients begin to work with their inner child from a place of lack or shame. They often feel like there is something about the inner child that is holding them back, getting in the way of their fulfillment and peace.

This is not the case, as they find out. The inner child holds so much wisdom and has taken on the role of being the soulful hero. Connecting to the inner child allows us to see our unique self that we hold dear and that is ready to shine through once we listen to that inner voice, honor it and the experiences, and provide a safe and nurturing place in our hearts for it to flourish.

I get much pleasure in guiding my clients through the journey of discovering the hero inside, in befriending and honoring their inner child, and integrating that into the divine purpose of their whole being.

If you are ready to do inner child work, set up a time to meet with me HERE.

Honoring a loss by being present to the grief and the gratitude.

June 21, 2021 by Carolyn Leave a Comment

Honoring a loos by allowing grief and gratitudeAs some of you know, I recently experienced two profound losses. Alan Davidson, a dear friend and mentor passed suddenly. That was followed by the passing of my cat PD after a struggle with illness.

In both instances, I felt deep pain and grief. The grief of these losses opened up regrieving for my dad who died almost 10 years ago.

When my dad died, I did not know how to fully or deeply grieve but instead went towards the logical mind statements that we often hear or speak. Things like “he went to a better place” or “there is no more suffering”.

I experienced what is referred to as spiritual bypass. It’s when one justifies the loss in some way to avoid the processing of the grief in the physical body.

We can do this for many reasons – to avoid the pain, because we feel like we need to be strong, or perhaps because we hold onto a belief that it is only honorable if we come from a place of gratitude. Doing this, however, does not allow us to honor all of the parts associated with loss nor does it empower us to be authentic in honoring the loss and the being that is no longer physically present.

To help me get through the process of grieving and being present with the physical loss, I am keeping physical memories of both in my space. This includes photos and other items that help trigger the grief in a way that I can honor it, which in return allows me to honor myself fully and honor those two precious beings in full love.

If you are experiencing a loss and struggling to process the grief or other emotions, I am here to provide guidance and support. You can set up a time to meet with me HERE.

How do you start reconnecting with your inner voice?

June 14, 2021 by Carolyn Leave a Comment

Being connected to our divine guidance allows us to live in the flow. It provides the messages about the right next action for living our soul’s purpose. It is the truest way of being authentically connected.

Sometimes life’s challenges disconnect us from our inner voice. Sometimes the messages from fear, pride, hurt, anger, and so on can get in the way of the soulful, loving, self-caring, and divine inner voice.

If not addressed, we can begin living a life out of balance with our true nature. And we need to do the work to heal the wounds, create the clearings, and address the blocking beliefs.

This type of work is deep and often benefits from the support of someone with the experience and skills to help you in your journey. I am here to provide guidance, support, and holding of the space for your highest good. You can set up a time to meet with me HERE.

June 7, 2021 by Carolyn Leave a Comment

Rediscover the joy of believing in yourselfOne of my clients is on the journey of rediscovery. Learning to trust her inner guidance, learning to believe in herself and her soul’s purpose. Healing. Expanding. Leaning into a divinely guided life of joy and purpose.

It is deep work. She is doing the work, and I am supporting her by providing guidance and holding the space for her journey.

It’s a beautiful thing to support someone in this way, and to witness the connecting (actually the reconnecting) to their inner source. The joy on her face is obvious. The healing of her inner child wounds, and the ongoing growth into being who she is meant to be is palpable and lovely. It is, simply stated, divine.

Do you want to rediscover the joy of believing in yourself? Do you want to live a life in divine flow, trusting your inner guidance to make empowered decisions and take right next steps?

Are you ready to do the work, to reach out for support? If so, I am here to provide guidance, support, and holding of the space for your highest good. You can set up a time to meet with me HERE.

Are you aware of what energy you are in when you choose?

June 4, 2021 by Carolyn Leave a Comment

I used to live my life guided by my mind and my logic. At the time, it felt like it was the way to make decisions and take action. It certainly was “safer” than feeling emotions.

Although many things worked for me, I felt disconnected from myself in some way. As I further explored these feelings, I realized the opportunity to live a life connected to my divine guidance, my inner intuition. I trusted that emotions were information to guide me.

When living this way, I feel in the flow. I make decisions that are empowered and in alignment with my soul’s purpose. I feel whole, complete, aligned.

In my article for The Wellness Universe blog a few years back, I share my experience and provide 7 steps to living a life guided by spirit. You can read that article HERE.

All that we are shines through.Living a heart-centered life is the way to thrive as your authentic self. You are aligned, balanced, aware, and present.

Your actions line up with your intentions, which are true to your values and honor your deepest desires. You are accountable for yourself, taking action from a space of an empowered and connected soul. Choices are made from compassion for self and for others. You are living in divine flow.

When you live from your heart space, all that you are shines through. It is a most beautiful gift to and expression of your unique being.

They can also include emotional challenges, bullying of any sort, or perhaps growing up in an environment where we felt unheard or unloved, even if our parents’ tried their best.

When these challenges occur, we can disconnect from ourselves and from our heart’s guidance. We may become guarded in some way, perhaps in ways in which we are not aware. Or we may simply want to find tools that help us navigate with more ease while staying connected to our deepest inner knowing.

The heart is where the physical energy and spiritual energy meets.

May 17, 2021 by Carolyn Leave a Comment

The heart is where the physical energy and spiritual energy meets.
The heart is where the physical energy and spiritual energy meets.

Last week’s new moon gave me the opportunity to meditate on energy, flow, and our intentions. And, how our heart is vital for integrating our physical and spiritual energy.

Being fully grounded and in present awareness helps us live a connected life. It provides the space for hearing the divine guidance for living our highest purpose.

There are many tools and resources for creating centering. These can include physical activities, meditation, breathwork, praying, and journaling. It is important to discover what works for you, what fulfills your soul, and making those practices part of your daily routine.

When you discover your ways to maintain presence, you live more easily in the flow. Your intuition is heightened, and you take inspired action from a place of balance.

I wrote about this in a blog post entitled “Why Being Present Enhances Intuition”. It goes deeper into the concept of being in touch wholly with ourselves as the means for being fully connected to our inner divine wisdom. It also provides a few tools for feeling more grounded and present in your body. You can read it HERE.

A healthy and thriving life is all about balance.

May 10, 2021 by Carolyn Leave a Comment

A healthy and thriving life is all about balance. This pandemic has changed many things about how we go about our daily lives. And how we view balance.

The way we conduct business changed for many, as well as the way we interact with others. What we did for self-care has also shifted for some.

Relationships and how we interact with work and loved ones shifted.

Many jobs that had required people to be in their offices and conduct meetings face-to-face are now remote from home using web-based technology to interact. Phone calls and video calls have replaced in person events. And going out was, and may be still in place for others, not something we did unless the activity was deemed essential.

In some areas, restrictions are lifting. There is another wave of shifting in process. And the future of certain things has yet to fully play out.

All of this has impacted balance for many. In how we balance work and home life, in how we balance self-care and social interactions. Some are struggling with emotions such as anxiety and loneliness, feeling out of balance with the “old ways” and habits.

A healthy and thriving life is all about balance. And the goods news is that this balance can be found and sustained in life’s challenges. We have the innate tools to helps us achieve this. I do. You do too.

If you find that you need some assistance finding your way to balance, set up a time to meet with me HERE. I can guide you towards finding your way to thriving by learning how to hear and trust your inner guidance.
